How We Progress

    People

We invest resources into finding the best people to contribute to our projects, both internally & externally.

Five kitchens can produce the same dish with the same ingredients.  We want the best chefs in our kitchen, we want everyone on the same page, and we want our dish to turn out best.  This requires investment & focus.

We work hard at maintaining a pricing structure which balances competitive pricing with keeping our business solvent and taking care of everyone at Prestige.  We most often land at the average in competitive estimating environments, which affirms that we are right where we should be.

    Education

We invest more resources into keeping our team up to date on the ever-involving ways in which we build, and we seek out partners that do the same.  As technology, machinery & tools, economics, culture, politics, building & zoning regulations, & environmental concerns are constantly reshaping our world, the same holds true for the built environment.

It is a chore keeping up with the constant change, which is why many builders stay stuck in one place towing the line for the status quo.  We place value in being informed, and in turn knowing that we are positioned to provide the very best guidance to our clients & partners.  This is a business decision, but we also do it because we care & enjoy learning.

    Planet

As residents of the same communities that we build in, we have a unique perspective on the health of our building/housing markets.  This is decidedly a net-positive, but it can challenge us when we see the struggles up close and personal.  There are many examples of the things that we see from our perspective, but some of the keynote issues are the extent of complexity & inefficiency in the design & permitting (Pre-construction) processes and cost inflation (Notably post-pandemic).

These various factors are adding layers of hardship onto an already burdened sector of our society & economy.  Nowadays, we are not only tasked with the day-to-day work of sustaining a healthy General Contracting business, but we are also faced with other significant challenges such as:

    • Helping to solve workforce issues such as addressing widespread shortages of new talent entering the trades, fostering increased diversity in a historically non-diverse sector, fair compensation for employees in an environment of constant inflation & predatory labor practices, & keeping team members in the field safe from both the known hazards of construction in addition to new ones we are constantly discovering such as exposure to various chemicals & other materials which are often used in building.

    • Helping to address inefficiencies, complexities, inequities, rising costs, and other barriers to building at the government and institutional lending levels.

    • Helping not only reduce the negative environmental consequences involved with traditional construction methods but also working toward finding & implementing feasible ways of building without creating ANY negative consequences to the environment.  Or, better still, pushing things further to see a day when a home or other structure can be built in a way which offers positive effects on our planet & its inhabitants!

At Prestige, we don’t brush these problems aside assuming someone else will fix them.  We discuss, we analyze, we act.  This is about more than us.
